There's A Reason They Call It Practicing Medicine

Well, I don't have pneumonia or a broken rib. But that's about all I know. The doctor basically said he doesn't know what's wrong with me. It might "just be a muscle spasm." He said this in pretty much the same breath that he told me that he has other patients who have pain without a real explanation and basically I'd just have to learn to suck it up. I'm going to get in touch with my surgeon this week because if it's a muscle spasm (which I'm having a really hard time believing) and it is caused by the tissue expander, then I'm sure she's seen it before and can tell me what might help. The best advice I got from the doctor this morning was "Try heat and ice. One of those might help and one of them will probably make it worse, but I'm not sure which is which." If it still hurts in three weeks, then he'll order a CT scan.

Three weeks?!! Jeez. I wonder what a real doctor will say. May sound dorky (yeah, I know), but I've been praying for you.

Congratulations! I noticed that your blog was listed in Top 50 Cancer Sites & Resources by a site Asbestos News, as was my blog Being Cancer and others I am sure you are familiar with. I noticed the site as a referrer on my statistics page so I checked it out. It’s a tribute to our cancer community - keep up the good work.
Take care, Dennis
