Double Bubble

I got my second expander fill this morning. She was again able to give me two syringes worth on each side, so I'm that much closer to being full. This week I can definitely tell that I'm growing. As I mentioned before, the expanders are really high, but with this fill they sort of grew together with the skin that was saved from my mastectomy.

I'm definitely more aware of my muscle stretching this week than I was last week. At one point during the injection on my radiated side, I winced a little because I could feel the muscle pulling and it was not a good feeling. She asked me if I wanted her to stop, but she was so close to finishing I just took a deep breath and kept on going. I will probably have to break down and take an ibuprofen this time.

According to my fancy expansion tracking spreadsheet, I'm 74% full on the left and 65% on the right. Based on the way things look now, I don't know if we'll need to go to 100%. The doctor also commented today that she thinks we're close on the left side, so now it's just about getting the right side to catch up. I have another fill scheduled for next Wednesday.

Apparently I was the favorite patient for the two girls I mentioned from last week's fill. In the breast plastic surgery area, they got to see me, a 70-something women with a breast reduction, and a woman with a breast augmentation that everyone thinks is a stripper. They were shocked that someone as "young and beautiful" as me could have cancer. If I see them again, I'll give them each 10 bucks for saying I'm beautiful.

Check out (www.ThePatientsAdvantage.com). I ran into them looking for breast augmentation surgeons. They have a great way to find the best surgeons and it is completely free.
