I Hate This Disease
I found out this weekend that a woman from the church I grew up in lost her second fight with breast cancer. She was the mother of four girls, the oldest a friend of my sister's growing up, and the youngest only twelve years old. Anne had one of the most beautiful voice's I've ever heard. She sang at my grandmother's funeral and I figured she'd still be around to sing at mine in fifty years. This news upset me a lot more than it would have this time a year ago, but I'm finding that's also part of the new normal. We have got to find a cure.
