Friday the 13th

The big day is almost here. Friday I'll head to the hospital to get my murderous mammaries amputated, two years to the day from the first time I had surgery to remove the original cancer. I spent last weekend cleaning my house from top to bottom so I won't feel the need to clean when I get home. I got the necessary prescriptions filled and did a bunch of laundry. I've packed one bag to take to the hospital and one to take to Mom & Dad's house, where I'll go after the hospital. The hospital has called three times this week, twice under the guise of actual medical questions and once with no pretense, but all three calls made sure I knew that I better bring my co-pay with me to the hospital, or else.

I'm not really nervous. I think I know what I've gotten myself in to. And if not, there will be plenty of painkillers. Thank you for all of your good wishes and kind words. I really appreciate them! I've asked Kristen to post an update here Friday evening or Saturday to let you know how everything went and if I'm coherent enough, I may even update my status on Facebook.
