Ode To A Freakin' Nap

I only made it through the first fifteen or so minutes of "Matters of Life & Dating" last night because A- 9:00 is pretty much bedtime and B- Ricki Lake was annoying the crap out of me. I'll give it another go later, since it's now fast-forwardable on my DVR. There was a scene in a cancer support group that I saw in the previews and I'll watch just because of Holly Robinson Peete's rant about napping. That I can definitely relate to.

I've sort of stopped watching the news lately because I just can't deal with a different breast cancer story every night. But there have been a couple of stories lately that caught my eye. First, Time magazine had a cover story a week or two ago about how breast cancer is spreading around the world. I'm guilty of not spending much time thinking about how other people live, so this was a fascinating read for me about what it means to be diagnosed with breast cancer in other parts of the world.

Second, this NY Times picture from Laura Bush's Middle East trip to raise awareness for the disease in the region. Can you even begin to imagine the stigma attached to breast cancer where women must cover their face? This photo made me cry.
