Adios, Amigos!

I'm taking advantage of the last "flex"day of summer to get a lot of the things I've neglected over the past few months done. I've taken a load of clothes to Salvation Army, traded in some books at the used book store, been to the post office, the bank and the grocery store and started putting photos in albums. I'm also getting a lot of laundry done. One of the loads waiting to go in is of all of the scarves and bandannas and caps that I wore. Many of the scarves and caps came to me from a very kind woman I've never met, and many others were made for me. I feel like it's time to get them ready to pass along, because unfortunately, there will always be someone else going through this. It also feels a little like Linus being forced to give up his blanket, because in many ways, these were my security blanket. And part of me is still disbelieving that this is finally over and I don't need them any more, and scared that I might someday need them again. But I've got hair, so see ya scarves!

Good for you. I'm reminded of the song, "I'm gonna wash that man right out of my hair," but for you it should be, "I'm gonna wash that cancer right out of my hair (and life)!"

Way to go, Lissy!
