Alien
I'm entering what my friend Leslie has dubbed my "Alien phase." My eyebrows and eyelashes, which had held on so long, are starting to fall out. The main reason I find this annoying is that now I constantly have some speck or fleck in my eye since the eyelashes aren't there to do their duty. I still have some eyebrows, so I'm hoping to avoid the whole "Mama stole my eyebrows" look from the season finale of Grey's Anatomy. But there is still time and more chemo, so they could all take a hiatus as well. I guess it's just hair, it'll grow back.
Nothing else new on the cancer front. Trying to get mentally prepared for this week's chemo. I'm not sure I could convince myself to do it if it weren't the last one. I have called the radiation oncologist and am waiting for her to call me back to discuss starting that process. My oncologist said last week that would most likely start in three weeks, just as if I were going for another chemo. My counts have to come back up for that to start also, so hopefully I won't need another shot with this chemo. I can also have my port removed after my last chemo, so I'll need to schedule that surgery sometime fairly soon. It's nice to have for all of the blood work and I think I may have a CT scan in my near future for radiation, so I'll hang on to it until that is out of the way and the blood draws are less frequent.
