Ask, And Ye Shall Receive

Some people have wanted to know where they could get "Hoos For A Cure" t-shirts. The first run was a "limited edition" only for members of our Race for the Cure team, but I've found a solution. I have set up a "store" with Cafepress where t-shirts can be purchased on-demand. This means they will print them when you want them and I don't have to worry about ordering different sizes or keeping an inventory. Plus they take care of the shipping, etc. You can buy short-sleeve, long-sleeve, children's size, etc. Also, $5.00 from the purchase of every shirt will go towards Hoos For A Cure fundraising for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. If you'd like to buy a t-shirt, you can do so here. I'll also make this a permanent link to the right so you can find it later.

I'm still fighting this cold. I'm actually considering taking an unplanned sick day for a cold when I haven't called in sick at all for cancer! I'm just hoping it will be over by Friday. To answer the question about my counts, I don't know. The lab was really backed up when I went in last week for my visit so I didn't stick around to get the results. Usually I have my blood drawn and by the time the doctor is ready to see me, they have the results. This time I saw the doctor first to eliminate some of the wait and then waited some more for the fun with needles. I'll get a copy of that report on Friday when I go to chemo, so we'll see how well the shot worked then.

I talked to my radiation oncologist yesterday. One of the reason's she is my favorite doctor is that she actually calls me herself. I had called to let the office know that I am scheduled for my last chemo this week and they let her know. Instead of just making an appointment with a receptionist, Dr. Hetelekidis called me herself to discuss next steps. Hopefully we'll be able to schedule my CT scan for next week as this is needed for the planning of radiation. So I'll get scanned, they'll plan the angles and measurements, I'll get a couple of tattoos and then I'll start radiation probably the first week in July.
