Myrtle the Turtle

I had a very uneventful visit to the doctor yesterday afternoon. I was unable to convince him that three chemo treatments is enough and that there is no need for the fourth. So the fourth will proceed as scheduled next Friday. I had my blood drawn, but didn't wait around to get my counts back because they were running really behind. I'm sure if anything is horribly out of whack, they'll give me a call. But my counts should be high since I had shots for red and white counts with my last chemo.

My doctor loved the tattoo I got at the beach and made me walk around and show all of the nurses. Some of the older people in the office looked at me like I had lost my mind, but they may very well be right. Here's a picture of the tattoo:
We're just two days away from the National Race for the Cure. Team 'Hoos for A Cure has raised almost $2000! Thank you all for your support and if you want to give but haven't yet, there's still time! Just click on the 'Hoos For A Cure link to the right.

I'm experiencing more technical difficulties with my home Internet and email than I know what to do with, so if you are a member of the team and haven't gotten an email from me with instructions for Saturday, I apologize. It's not for lack of trying on my part. We'll be meeting at the Team Meeting Area on the National Mall between 3rd & 7th Streets. There will be a big sign that says "Team Meeting Area." Please try to gather here between 7:30 and 7:45 so we can walk over to the starting line and do the race as a team. If you need more information on Metro or other race day activities, please click here.
