Later, Gator

Even though the last three minutes of the game didn't go in our favor, we still had an awesome trip to the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville. Monday we walked around the Jacksonville Landing, went to the pep rally, watched a little of the 5k and sat on the curb and watched the Gator Bowl parade. After a so-so Mexican dinner with warm beer, we watched some football and waited for midnight. There were two barges on the river that shot off fireworks at midnight and the view from our balcony was awesome. It might have been the best fireworks display I've ever seen. Tuesday we hopped on a bus to the stadium early to tailgate and hit the UVA tailgate and the Budweiser fan experience area. The Hoos definitely outnumbered the Red Raiders, and it was awesome to see so many Virginia fans wearing orange.

The UVA Marching Band is fantastic. I can't even imagine what an embarrassment the Pep Band would have been in a situation like this. We had the opportunity to see the band a lot; at the pep rally, in the parade, at both tailgates and during the game and they sounded awesome every time.

Here are a few quick pics from our trip:
