Make New Friends, But Keep The Old
I didn't last very long as a Brownie, but I was there long enough to learn this little song....Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold. A circle is round, it has no end. That's how long I will be your friend.
One of the few positive things to come out of this experience is that it has given me the opportunity to reconnect with some really amazing people that were once a big part of my life but for one reason or another I lost touch with. People that I have thought about often, but not talked to or seen for years, have come back into my life recently and I can't tell you how happy this makes me.
I've also made some new friends throughout this journey. I only know them online and we're all at different places in our lives, but cancer connects us and has created a bond stronger than I would have thought possible for "virtual" friends.
I'm thankful for all of my friends, old and new, online and off. I couldn't have gotten through this without you. Thank you!
