Breaking News

It's been killing me that I haven't been able to share everything that's been happening in the past week or two with you all, but I had to make sure it was all really going to happen before I could talk about it. Where to start...

I've accepted a job with the Strategic Communications team at Booz Allen Hamilton as a Senior Consultant. I'll be working on their federal government projects. It was a huge decision for me, for a number of reasons. After almost five years, WICT has become a part of my family and I have enjoyed my time there. Also, the largest organization I've ever worked for employed about 50 people; Booz Allen has somewhere near 20,000 employees worldwide, so I'm in for a bit of a culture shock, I think. I'm looking forward to continuing both my personal and professional growth as I step up to this new challenge.

I'll be working for Booz Allen in Winchester, Virginia. So I'll be moving. Into a brand new house that I'm buying! This brings me much closer to family, about 30 minutes from Mom & Dad and practically across the street from Kristen, Josh and Jackson. The events of the past year have definitely made me realize how important family is. And this will be my first house. I'm excited to have a place to call my own and decorate and buy furniture for and plant flowers around. The house won't be finished until the end of May, so in the meantime I'll be fulfilling every 30 year-old's fantasy and moving back in with Mom and Dad.

Things will begin happening pretty quickly at this point. I will start my new job with Booz Allen on February 18. In the next two weeks, I'll be trying to fit in a lot of visits with my DC friends, pick out things like floors for my house, and pack my apartment. But Winchester is just a short drive from DC, so don't think you're going to get rid of me that easily. I'm sure I'll be back for a quick trip to Trader Joe's or Nordstrom since those stores haven't made their way to the Valley yet. For now, I'm going to keep my medical care with my current doctors, so I'll be back at least every three months for that.

I'm incredibly excited about all of the changes that lie ahead in the coming months and I'm sure I'll be sharing all of the hilarious details with you as they unfold!
