Free To Be Me
The best thing about my new job is that I get to be me again. When someone I've never met before compliments my haircut, I know she actually likes it. And she actually thinks it's a haircut. Or the bag I carry my stuff to work in is just a bag, not my "chemo bag." I got to leave all of my cancer baggage behind. Not that I'm hiding it, I'm sure I'll tell people if it ever comes up in conversation, but I'm not leading with it. It's nice not to be cancer girl anymore.
