After The Tears

Last Friday, while I was getting the news that I had been diagnosed with cancer, hundreds of young women who have already been down that road were gathering at the Crystal City Hyatt for the Young Survival Coalition's and Living Beyond Breast Cancer's Annual Conference. I've been frequenting the YSC's website and message boards since my diagnosis for information on the issues that are unique to young women with cancer. I've found these women to be strong and full of a grace I can only hope to possess throughout this journey. They're always willing to answer questions and several have reached out to me personally to offer encouragement and recommend doctors in my area. I hope I'll one day be able to use my experience to help those who will come along after me.
