Alias

I'm now the owner of a red wig. It's not quite as bold as what Sidney Bristow would wear, but it's definitely not the color of the hair currently, if tenuously, on my head. I made a visit to the local office of the American Cancer Society at lunch and emerged with said wig, a bottle of wig shampoo and a wig stand. I met an extremely nice lady at my class last night who invited me to come visit the "wig room" and pick something out. So I did.

I'm hoping to make it until Friday night when I get to Woodstock before my head must be shaved, but I just don't know how much longer it's going to last. I can gather 10-20 hairs every time I comb my hair or run my fingers through it. I imagine that number is going to increase. But this is not a party trick, I won't do it just to show you that it's falling out, so please don't ask.

I'll be sure to get pictures when we shave my head and post them for all to see. Unless I have a funny birthmark or growth on my head.

Based on the many bald baby pictures of you, your head is a lovely, round shape. As for birthmarks, unless they've developed since you started growing that mane, you are good.

I can't wait to see the red wig. That will look super with the blue eyebrows!!!

In the words of the great Randy Travis "...Honey I don't care, I ain't in love with your hair, and if it all fell out, well, I'd love you anyway!..." See you soon!

Love,

Also, we are going to move the Crawl for the Cure until sometime in late June or early July because Melissa definitely wants to be there, and by that time she will be finished with Chemo! As it turns out, we can raise money after the Race for the Cure, and still apply it to the Hoos team so that's what we are going to do!

Hi Melissa, You are a naturally beautiful person. Neither make up nor hair can disguise THAT. :)
You will stay beautiful, with or without hair.
You are an inspiration!!
And everyday, your journey increases the distance between your back and that Earle (? Wasn't that the name of that bastard?). Celebrate the day you say goodbye to your hair. That is just one more benchmark in your destruction of the enemy! Mighty warrior!!
:) Hugs, Suzan
